News and a freebie

I am starting out with my latest layout and then the news and a freebie. I am so happy with the way that this layout turned out. I was having so much trouble with it and then I came across this paper and everything just fell into place, I just wish that it didn't take me three hours before I decided to try this paper lol.

New layout

I am so in love with this kit by FairyTale Studios over at Digital Candy. Don't be fooled by the preview since you can't see all of the papers in it. There are so many fun patterned papers and I love the bright vibrant colors. I have to admit that it is a bit outside the box for me since I don't usually use these colors. I didn't really know what to do with it so I started with a template from the Candy Mold Challenge at Digital Candy and found the perfect picture for it :) You can get the kit over HERE in the Candy Shoppe.

I was so excited when I downloaded it because there were the perfect papers and elements for a two page layout that his been sitting in my unfinished folder since July! There are so many gorgeous elements and papers in this kit that I am also working on some quick pages that I will use once my little girl decides to make an appearance.

My layouts don't really show everything that is available in the Mega Kit but you can head over to the gallery at Digital Candy (here) to see more layouts that have been made with the kit and I will post my quick pages once I get them done.

Upcoming Challenge

Don't forget that on Thursday I will be posting the new photography challenge over at Digital Candy. This month I will be doing a photoshop tutorial on how to make the color in your pictures pop and a basic rule of thirds tutorial. I want to find out what type of cameras everyone is using before I start posting more challenging tutorials.

Creative Team

I am on the Digital Candy Creative team now. This month I am working with Danielle Corbitt. I am so excited and so happy to be able to work with her Christmas morning kit, I love the colors and the papers are so much fun!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope that you have all had a wonderful holiday.

I have the week off of work and I was hoping to get all caught up on my layouts but that hasn't happened so far lol. All I have is this one done from September, I still have a lot more to do...

Christmas Picture

I got the brilliant idea to play around with my camera, a black backdrop and Christmas lights again this year. I have to admit that it wasn't easy lol. Last year I managed to get a semi decent picture of Drew awake and playing with the lights and some ornaments. That just wasn't happening at all this year. I had to use a low shutter speed and ended up with nothing but blurs. After hours of frustration I gave up.... that is until he fell asleep lol. It still took about an hour to get a decent shot. It's not quite the cute Christmas card shot that I had in my head but it is still really sweet and I learned a valuable lesson, next year I am buying white christmas lights, apparently they are easier to work with lol.

Snow much fun!

We have had a few days so far that were nice enough to go outside and play. I absolutely love this kit by Damayant, it is so pretty and so much fun.

First snow of the year and getting teeth pulled

This was a quick page by Ktanker from her Merry Christmas Collection grab bag.

Of course it snowed like crazy on the day that we had to take Drew to the Dentist to get his 4 front teeth pulled out. I tried for a few days before we left to get a good picture of him smiling where you could still his teeth, but had no luck. I am not doing a page about that, it was to traumatic for all of us, I don't think that it is something that we will ever forget.

Scrap Challenge layouts

There was a challenge over at DC so I used it to get caught up on some of my scrapping, I am very far behind lol.


This was my absolute favorite layout out of all of the ones that I did for the challenge, I believe that it was the scraplift challenge.

These pictures were taken at Six Pines during their annual Halloween Haunt. It was actually really bad. We were so disappointed. It was advertised and supposed to be really great and amazing, but in all honesty it was just really bad and really boring. We won't be going again.

My little boy is two! This picture was taken on Drew's second birthday before all of the guests arrived for his birthday party / bonfire.

These are just some random fall pictures. I can't remember where I found the template but I really like the zipper on the side.

In other news my pregnancy is progressing well, I can't wait until I find out if it will be a boy or a girl. I just have to wait a few more weeks! I am really excited too because I found out that some places (nestle, Similac, Heinz) give you free diaper bags and samples if you register on their website.

Another layout

Summer seems to go by so fast. This picture was taken at Pine Ridge Hollow at our Provincial park. The elements etc... were all from a template challenge over at digital candy.

Actually, it is only two layouts lol. But I have been designing more than I have been scrapping and with the weather being so nice I haven't had much time for either but I have deadlines for the designing lol.

These were both for Challenges over at Digitalcandy.ca, if you haven't done so yet you should head over there and check out their challenges. They really are a lot of fun.

Freebie - Glitter Charms and some exciting news!

I know, I know, there have been a lot of these going around lately but I just found out how to make my own glitter (keep an eye out for some freebie glitter styles coming soon) and I have been practicing with different glass styles. I'm not sure which glass style I like best yet but I would love to hear your opinions!

Puddle fun

Another super simple layout. I don't have any papers or kits for a rainy day filled with puddle stomping so I just used what I had to save time because I absolutely love this layout. I am hoping to find an umbrella or some better papers soon.

I feel so bad because I haven't been posting much lately (freebies coming sometime this week). I have been taking so many pictures lately and they have all been in RAW format so I have to edit and resave all of them before I can even scrap them. I am so far behind right now that I will have to make at least 4 layouts a week for the next two months just to get caught up!

Does anyone know of any good places to get layouts printed in Canada? I used to get all of mine done at Walmart, good quality for a good price, but they changed their print size requirements and now all of my pages are getting chopped off by about 3 inches on the sides. It is driving me nuts. I will just have to invest in a good printer soon I guess.
